Mike Brennan has over 30 years of experience in the preparation and shipping of hazardous materials and dangerous goods.  He started his career in 1971 with the Logistics Support Services contractor at NASA's Johnson Space Center (JSC) in Houston, Texas.  After serving as a Packer in the Shipping Department he was selected as the Manager for the Shipping Operation, being responsible for all hazardous materials shipments from that facility.  In 1988 he accepted a position as a Traffic Management Specialist with NASA.

Mike quickly became recognized as an expert in all aspects of the transportation of hazardous materials.  He developed a series of training courses for both, ground and air transportation of hazardous materials and dangerous goods.  He served as the instructor for these classes that were conducted for NASA personnel and contractors not just at JSC, but at other NASA field centers throughout the Agency.  He became known for his ability to interpret and explain the complex U.S. and international regulations into language that is easily understood, and can be applied to daily "real-life" hazmat shipping operations.

In 1997, Mike was selected as Chief of the Transportation Branch at JSC, and was appointed as the JSC Transportation Officer.  He has been recognized many times throughout his career with awards and citations, including the NASA Exceptional Achievement Medal for developing and implementing a NASA-specific hazardous materials shipping program, and the NASA Exceptional Service Medal.

In 2002 Mike founded JMB HAZMAT Consulting and Training Services and teaches public and private hazardous materials transportation training courses.
